Course Layout

We welcome you to Bear’s Paw Country Club, Jack’s 5^th Nicklaus Signature course and his first on Florida' s beautiful Gulf Coast which opened for play in 1980.  It is a typical design of his early years…hit your drive in the right place and you will have an unencumbered shot to the green …stray from the correct line and you will have to cross trouble in some fashion before you can putt.
The greens are small and usually set at an angle for the approach shot. In the summer of 2000 we sprigged the greens with TifEagle, one of the new dwarf Bermuda grasses which, when cut low, putt without grain like the Bent grass on Northern courses.
